Let me explain how this will play out: anyone denouncing the illegal attack on Venezuela and subsequent kidnapping will quickly be painted as supporting Maduro and being in favor or drug trafficking. This is why any statements will be tepid and mediocre because that tactic will work.

Exhibit A: the words of Ursula von der Leyen, president of the European Commission, who stated: “Following very closely the situation in Venezuela. We stand by the people of Venezuela and support a peaceful and democratic transition. Any solution must respect international law and the UN Charter.”

Pure and utter weak sauce. The vapidity of this statement is breath-taking. Expect more of the same from other European weaklings.

After decades of “Yankee go home!” in Latin America, not one leader there will stand up and denounce this. In fact, they will all line up in tribute. Mark these words.

And the Media Whores will help out this lawless Administration, by reinforcing the narrative that a dangerous drug trafficker has been arrested...leaving behind the fact that the criminal in the White House pardoned former Honduran president Juan Orlando Hernández, who was convicted of, wait for it: for drug trafficking and weapons conspiracy.

America is farce. Criminal farce.
