06 January 2025 | A Foul Harvest, Reaped
January 6 is the grievous wound against the American Republic that should be approached with anger and tragedy. Instead, it is nothing more than mere spectacle, to be ignored and diminished.
No right thinking person should view the ugliness of that day with any other emotion than anger and alarm. On that day, a sitting president unleashed a mob upon the Capitol and did nothing for hours until finally goaded into telling people to go home. By then, the Capitol Building was invaded, trashed, cops attacked and killed. All of this to overtturn the results of an election.
This was an act of perfidy and evil. And you people invited the perpetrator back in.
Jan 6 is the coup that never stopped and ultimately succeeded. With an almost relentless dedication to immorality, the citizens of the United States decided to re-elect the person most responsible for that ugly day. And it was done so without remorse, without shame, without a shred of decency. As it is with perverted societies in decline, you could not care less about the treachery done to the ideals of the so-called “American experiment.” There was no sustained anger about Jan 6, but a twisting over what happened to the point where you not only wanted its cheerleader back into a position of power, but there is open talk of *pardoning* the myriad criminals that participated. If there’s any fitting motto for the United States, it is no longer “E pluribus unum” but “No learning”.
Jan 6 was a terrorist attack, but no one was charged with terrorism. Jan 6 was part of a nationwide plot to overturn a fair and free election with scores of false electors and machinations to stop certification. No one in the upper echelon of that abominable administration has been charged much less named as being part of the conspiracy to overturn the election. The most successful of them? Well, the now president-elect has escaped all criminal trials and responsibility. He is the most successful felon in all of American history, a description that defies explanation other than the ongoing collapse of the American system of government.
And no one cares.
There are playoff games to be had, speculation if Aaron Rodgers will remain with the Jets, and other trivial issues that help put Jan 6 into a little box and placed in the attic. In an immoral society, this is how life proceeds. You brought back in a criminal as a reward and if you have ever bothered to watch a single crime show, you know that once someone gets away with something, they keep doing it. The guardrails have proven to be easily wrecked and there is nothing to protect any of you. But instead of alarm, or even a token display of anger, you have all collectively shrugged and went off to your many diversions.
Jan 6 was a failure of staggering proportions, an act of domestic terrorism whose challenge to any decent society has gone unanswered by a public too interested in the machinery of decadence. Reap what you have sowed, my fellow Americans. Reap, suffer and diminish.
