Well, well, well, the broken clock of what militias have been heavy-breathing about for decades regarding government overreach and tyranny is finally right and it’s been met with…silence.

Congress has passed a massive omnibus bill that funds the creation of an actual police state. There is no other way to describe the over $150 billion to ICE, an agency that has unleashed a wave of terror and kidnappings of people, some of them actual American citizens, for deportation to third countries. The military is being brought in to act as auxiliaries to this despicable group, who hide their faces behind masks and act with impunity. If the felon G. Gordon Liddy were alive, what would he think about these “jack-booted thugs” snatching people off the street?

But what we really want to know is: where are the militia groups? Or the libertarians for that matter? Is this not what they have been prophesying about? Have they not been warning people about a tyrannical government that would use the police and the military to oppress citizens and deny them their rights? Here it is! It’s right here and it’s been given billions of dollars to spread its tentacles across all of American life. This is the beginning of institutionalized terror.

And not a goddamn peep from the militia groups.

Now, were they always full of shit? Were they always just a bunch of fat, mouth-breathing slobs who liked to play warrior and doomsday prepper but certainly never really thought what they liked to preach about would come to pass? Because it seems to us that their hair should all be on fire right now, and maybe even leading the charge to resist. Are they okay with the military expanding their “zones” near the border that is transforming public lands right in front of us?

Damned if we know because they haven’t said a thing.

It almost seems to us that their silence in the face of an assault against American freedom means that their sainted, beloved Timothy McVeigh blew up that federal building in Oklahoma City for nothing. If Waco was the impetus for that attack due to “government overreach,” well, shouldn’t this actual police state apparatus-in-the-making have their communication lines buzzing?

Maybe they’re hiding behind the ostensible target of this terror: immigration. Certainly one of their favorite racist reasons because they hate the undocumented like any other MAGA nut, but as we have already seen, American citizens are being caught up ICE commando raids. (“Collateral damage,” as McVeigh termed his victims?) Worse, as we mentioned, the United States military is being put into the service of law enforcement and being deployed to help this. No comment? No sense of alarm? No nothing?

Again, it would seem that their silence is acceptance, and that everything they have been screaming about was always a lie. A pathetic lie when the reality of a tyrannical government, headed by a convicted criminal no less, has come to fruition.

Maybe it’s only tyranny when it’s a Democrat in the White House.
