Oops, we did it again!

There are three things we never want to hear about again from white women: abortion, rape and the patriarchy.

For the third time, white women as a group voted for a (now) convicted felon and adjudicated rapist for president, to the tune of 53 percent. This is roughly the same as it was in 2020 and in the same margin as in 2016. The Felon/Rapist also bragged on the campaign trail that he happily overturned Roe v Wade. Guess that didn’t matter.

Maybe this is the reason why “Roevember” pretty much fizzled out. Turns out that abortion wasn’t as galvanizing an issue as people thought. Maybe because states were putting abortion access on the ballot so hey, who cares about a federal, constitutional right that was taken away from them. Well, idiots, if there is a federal abortion ban, your newly minted abortion rights access in your state (and not all passed them) doesn’t mean shit. And we suppose that stories of women bleeding out because no doctor wants to treat them, less that person run afoul of the law, either didn’t register or didn’t matter enough.

So being a rapist didn’t matter to white women, and abortion didn’t matter to white women, what are we left with? Oh yes, the patriarchy that has been galvanized by Project 2025, parts of which will likely be implemented since Republicans ostensibly have control of the Senate and the House. But if you voted for these people and their stated aims, well, maybe the patriarchy isn’t that bad. Perhaps white women got tired of all the “Handmaid’s Tale” references, or secretly found them attractive. Just wonder what the tolerance level for “your body, my choice” will be, but who cares what they think anymore?

So really, white women, please shut the fuck up. You had your chance to defeat a convicted felon and rapist and you failed once again by voting for him. You betrayed black women, full stop. You got people excited about the gender gap in the early vote only to pull a Lucy with the football to their Charlie Brown. Congrats.

The final takeaway: this country will never vote for a woman for president in our lifetimes. That is gone.
