12 December 2024 | The Passion of the Media Whores, Part Deux
One size fits all
For those of you confused by the obeisance of the nation’s media outlets, let me explain this very clearly: it is their business model, AKA the Les Moonves Rule: “It may not be good for America, but it’s damn good for CBS.”
Businesses are the first to fall in dictatorships because they need to maintain their bottom line. Our corporate-owned Media Glitterati is no different, and they will merely ramp up their acts of obedience and cowardice as the situation demands, all while pretending to be martyrs for the First Amendment. This is farce. Calculated, but farce nonetheless. Witness the pathetic spectacle of the hosts of MSNBC’s “Morning Joe” program who made pilgrimage to seek absolution and then had the gall to be offended when called out for it. Businesses are about self-preservation; the media is not exempt.
It comes down to this: the media is not to be trusted. They are major contributors to the current broken political situation and despite their claims, they are not on the side of ordinary Americans. They are the water-bearers for the power brokers who see that causing fear offers more dividends than detriments. And the media will, again, act accordingly to keep their access.
The cowardice of the media is a microcosm for the broader cowardice taking shape. It is a sight to behold that the “home of the brave” is just a collection of sniveling simps. It is a symptom of collapse, and as Cyrus the Great once remarked, “Weak lands breed weak men.” At the core, this is a weak country that still thinks imperiously breathing threats means it is tough and full of vinegar. Full of shit is more like it.
