A Big Disappointment

A Big Disappointment

I sincerely hope that so-called independent voters go for Republicans in this election cycle, so that I can blame them for the bullshit that is going to descend on this country. These idiots, I can’t fathom why anybody would want to vote for a party that has proven to do nothing in terms of any legislative accomplishments. What have Republicans actually done in the past two years? They’ve bitched and moaned and obstructed the president at every move. And somehow, the GOP’s lying about government spending as the enemy has managed to dupe just about everyone.

Not that Obama is beyond criticism. Fundamentally, I just don’t like him. He has somehow mistaken guidance for leadership: witness the health care reform vitriol of the previous summer. He left it in the hands of Democrats rather than stumping for this important legislation and let the Republicans rile up the easily gullible with their lies of “death panels” and other assorted bullshit. This should have alarmed the Democrats to move to swift action, rather than taking Obama’s approach of believing that rational voters would understand and support it. That stupid tactic is the hallmark of his style, and that’s more disappointing about Obama than anything else. Where is the Chicago tough guy? Where is the clever devotee of Saul Alinsky and all those “socialist” political activists that right-wing hate radio pounded into the feeble minds of their audience throughout the presidential election? I used to think that Obama had some secret plan that would trump all the lies of the Republicans, but instead, I have to face the realization that this is as good as it gets.

I don’t want to hear about his accomplishments in these difficult times. And I don’t need him to breakdown on camera or tear up when talking about people being out of work, like that sow Maureen O’Dowd keeps hectoring for. As I said, Obama has mistaken guidance for real leadership, and this has been disastrous, allowing otherwise unelectable psychos to become stars of a reactionary movement with a real chance of getting power. Obama is the titular head of a political party that cannot seem to get its head out of its rear end to save its life, and we’re all gonna pay for it.
