SONS OF ARES

12 March 2019 | What is the Big Deal?

Elijah Cummings made this statement regarding Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi's comment regarding impeachment: "Right now you've got 40 something percent of the country pleased, I guess, with what the president's doing. I think Pelosi realizes this."

No, it's not that they're pleased. But after two years of "could be a crime, might be a crime, if true" with nothing to back it up, you have 10 to 12 percent of the voting public wondering what the big deal is. It's not that they're unintelligent, they just don't care that much because none of this is directly affecting them. You might be morally outraged by that, but these people aren't because they don't care. And given the lack of massive, sustained protests against Imbecile-1 and his scumbag crime family, apparently neither do the rest of you.

Sure, you might say, "But Mueller has all the indictments!" So what? Look at the number of people who actually have gone to jail: two of them (some Dutch boy and a Greek moron) are already out. Manafort got tickled on the wrist: that guy is not going to "die in prison" as people like Rick Wilson keep telling gullible left-of-center types. And Michael Flynn ain't going to be in a cell for the rest of his life, either, when he gets sentenced. So this 10 to 12 percent thinks, "What's the big deal? It's not hurting me and I can't complain too much." That's why it looks like 40 something percent of the country appears to be pleased.
